Christmas! Our Saviour came to the world as a little baby, just like you and me-except His mother Mary was a virgin and God was His Father. He grew up, walked among men, taught them about His heavenly Father, healed them, comforted them, cast out evil spirits from them, and broke bread with them. Then, He was crucified—like a lamb slaughtered to take away our sin: the final blood sacrifice thus ending and fulfilling the Old Covenant.
He was buried, but rose from the grave, walked among men for 40 days, then ascended to Heaven to be reunited with His Father God. He sent the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts and enable us to walk and talk with Him. That, my friends, is the first and continuous Christmas gift. God loved us all so much that He gave His ONLY begotten Son as a gift to us who believe in Him; as a result we shall not die but have everlasting life.
Be thankful you don’t have to find a perfect lamb to take to church to be slaughtered on the altar so your sins can be forgiven. Jesus is that Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. This Lamb is a free gift to all who wish to receive Him. That’s a cause for Joy, exceeding great joy!
Merry Christmas!
